Gaza, September 6, 2024 – The 335th day of conflict in Gaza has proven to be another day of devastation for its residents, as Israeli forces launched a series of aggressive assaults across the region. The attacks claimed the lives of at least 17 Palestinians, adding to the mounting toll of the ongoing violence.
According to reports from the Wafa news agency on Friday, Israeli forces struck multiple areas, leaving significant destruction in their wake. Authorities fear that the number of casualties may rise as rescue operations continue. The total death toll in Gaza has now reached a staggering 40,900 since the conflict began, with more than 94,000 Palestinians injured.
In Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, a severe attack resulted in the deaths of at least 5 people. The nearby city of Zeitoun was also targeted, where 6 more lives were lost, and at least 5 others were critically injured. Further south, in Rafah, Israeli forces destroyed several buildings, with 6 bodies recovered from the rubble.
The violence also extended to Central Gaza, where the Israeli military continued its onslaught in areas such as the Maghazi and Nuseirat refugee camps, killing several residents.
Palestinian health authorities expressed grave concerns, revealing that over 10,000 people are still missing, believed to be trapped beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings across the Gaza Strip. As rescue efforts persist, hopes of finding survivors are dwindling.
This latest wave of attacks has left the international community once again calling for urgent intervention to halt the violence and address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The situation remains dire, with Gaza’s residents facing ongoing destruction and loss.
