With just three months left until the U.S. presidential election, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is actively campaigning across swing states with her running mate. On Saturday, she participated in a campaign event in Nevada. The Biden-Harris duo had secured the state in 2020, and Harris aims to maintain that position this time around.
Even without intense campaigning, Harris is leading in three key swing states—Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. According to a New York Times and Siena College poll conducted from August 5 to 9, Harris is ahead of Donald Trump by four points in these states.
Analysts suggest that Harris is strategically leveraging the Gaza issue, which has become a significant topic in this election. When asked about the recent attacks on schools in Gaza during an event on Saturday, Harris gave a carefully measured response.
Kamala Harris stated, “President Biden and I are working tirelessly. It is essential to bring the Israeli hostages home. We need a hostage release agreement, a ceasefire, and it needs to happen now.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump held a rally in Montana, a state that has been under Republican control since 1996. During his speech, Trump launched personal attacks on Kamala Harris, claiming she is incapable of handling a press conference.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump remarked, “If you can’t handle a press conference, you can’t be president. I would face the press right after getting off a helicopter, something no one else did before. Kamala tries to imitate me but leaves after answering half the questions. Joe is even worse—he can’t hear anything.”
A New York Times poll indicates that 60% of American voters believe Donald Trump has a clear vision and plan for leading the country. However, Harris is not far behind in the race.
