A Russian helicopter carrying 22 people, including three crew members and 19 passengers, has gone missing in the Kamchatka Peninsula in the country’s eastern region. The information was confirmed by Russia’s Emergency Ministry on Saturday, August 31, according to a BBC report.
The report states that the MI-8 helicopter took off from a base near the Vachkazhets volcano on Saturday. The crew was scheduled to check in at 4 PM local time, but no communication was received. The search and rescue operation has been hampered by heavy fog in the region.
