Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed frustration after being prevented from playing golf due to an assassination attempt. Just ten minutes after the attempt, Trump called his running mate, J.D. Vance, voicing his annoyance with the Secret Service for the disruption.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, the assailant, Ryan Wesley Ruth, had been hiding in the bushes near the golf course for almost 12 hours before being discovered. Security personnel opened fire after spotting the barrel of a gun emerging from the bushes, just a few hundred yards from where Trump was located. Although Ruth initially managed to flee the scene, he was apprehended about 40 minutes later.
In response to the incident, J.D. Vance urged Republican supporters to remain calm, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order.
This marks the second assassination attempt on Trump in recent months, following an incident in which he was shot in the ear two months ago. Trump’s legal team has since called for heightened security measures for the Republican candidate.
