In a press conference held at the Secretariat on Monday, legal advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul strongly criticized President Mohammad Sahabuddin for claiming there is no documentary evidence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.
Dr. Nazrul asserted that Hasina had submitted her resignation with the heads of the armed forces present and that the President accepted it. He described the President’s remarks as false and a violation of oath, questioning whether the President is fit to remain in office.
In response to a question, Dr. Nazrul referred to a speech given by the President on August 5, where he announced the acceptance of the Prime Minister’s resignation. This speech was broadcast live on television, making the President’s recent contradictory statement unacceptable.
He emphasized that such comments could raise concerns about the President’s mental fitness for holding a significant position.
Dr. Nazrul’s remarks come amid growing scrutiny over the political situation and leadership stability in the country.
