On Monday, November 4, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against SM Kamruzzaman, an Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), on charges of amassing illegal wealth and concealing asset information. The case was lodged by ACC Assistant Director Rakibul Islam at the ACC’s Khulna Integrated District Office.
According to the complaint, Kamruzzaman submitted a statement declaring assets worth BDT 29,021,000, covering both movable and immovable properties. However, after verifying the records, the ACC found evidence of concealment of assets worth BDT 1,960,000, with allegedly false or unsubstantiated information provided in his declaration.
Further ACC investigations revealed that Kamruzzaman had accumulated wealth worth BDT 10,232,582, which reportedly does not align with his known income sources. The case will now proceed as part of the ACC’s ongoing effort to address corruption and irregularities in public service.
