In a move aimed at boosting its air capabilities, Azerbaijan has signed a deal with Pakistan to acquire fighter jets. On Thursday, September 26, Pakistan agreed to sell its JF-17 Block-3 fighter jets to Azerbaijan, marking a significant defense collaboration between the two nations.
The JF-17 Block-3 jets, equipped with advanced radar systems and long-range beyond visual range capabilities, are designed to execute a wide range of combat missions. The deal follows a demonstration of the fighter jets by the Pakistani military during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Pakistan in July.
Although specific details about the number of jets and the financial terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed, both nations view the deal as a key step in strengthening their military ties. President Aliyev expressed optimism that this agreement would enhance the defense relationship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
