In a recent briefing, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government, assured that the government will work with India based on respect and fairness. The announcement was made on Sunday (September 8) by Dr. Yunus’s Special Assistant, Mahfuz Alam.
Mahfuz Alam reported that during a recent exchange of views with students, various opinions on numerous topics were shared. The government is committed to considering these opinions as it moves forward. Students also urged the government to remain vigilant about the politics of religion and discussed issues related to teacher and student politics in educational institutions.
Additionally, students expressed that mob justice can never be a substitute for the judicial system and called for criminals to be handed over to the authorities. They also emphasized the importance of following proper legal procedures in filing cases.
Meanwhile, Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam stated that efforts are underway to compile an accurate list of those who lost their lives during recent protests. Many families did not take the deceased to the hospital, and others did not register them even after hospitalization, which is causing delays in the list compilation. The government plans to assist the families affected by the protests.
Notably, Dr. Yunus met with students from various educational institutions at the Shapla Hall of the Chief Advisor’s office on Sunday morning. Coordinators of different phases of the anti-discrimination student movement also participated in the meeting.
