In addition to being used on the battlefield, unmanned drones have long been employed to transport food, medicine, and other lightweight goods. However, these goods are typically of low weight. Now, drones capable of carrying up to two tons of cargo will travel from one city to another. It may sound surprising, but China’s Sichuan Tengden Science-Tech Innovation has developed a cargo drone capable of transporting up to two tons of goods. This specially designed large drone for cargo transportation is equipped with two engines and can fly at a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The massive cargo drone astonished everyone by successfully completing a test flight yesterday, flying for about 20 minutes in the skies over southwestern Sichuan Province, China.
The drone, with a wingspan of 52.8 feet and a height of nearly 15 feet, is even slightly larger than the popular four-seater Cessna aircraft. Following the successful test flight, it is expected that the drone will soon be officially used for cargo transportation.
