A tragic explosion at a petrol station in Chechnya has claimed the lives of at least four people, including two children. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 13, in Grozny, the capital city of the southern region.
The explosion reportedly originated from a gas tank at the petrol station, which quickly caught fire. Due to the intensity of the blast, the flames rapidly spread around the station and nearby areas. Firefighters were eventually able to bring the blaze under control, but not before significant damage was done.
At least five other people were injured in the explosion and are receiving medical treatment. Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the explosion, and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.
This tragedy follows a similar event just last month when an explosion at a petrol station in Dagestan, another North Caucasian region, resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
