The Israeli assault on Gaza shows no signs of abating amidst rising tensions in Lebanon and Iran. The death toll has now reached approximately 43,000, with more than 17,000 of those being children, according to a report from Gaza’s Public Relations Department.
In a recent series of airstrikes, Israeli forces targeted five buildings in Beit Lahia, resulting in the deaths of at least 45 Palestinians. On the evening of October 26, fighter jets indiscriminately bombarded the area, leveling structures and leaving many trapped under the rubble, raising concerns that the death toll may continue to rise.
Just hours later, another attack on a separate building claimed 10 more lives. Additionally, strikes on a school in Gaza City have also resulted in casualties. Israeli operations have extended to the Nuseirat refugee camp in the north and the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, since the escalation of hostilities began in October of last year, the total number of fatalities has reached 42,924. The Ministry also reported that over 183,000 residents have been injured in the relentless bombardment over the past 12 and a half months.
As the situation continues to deteriorate, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is becoming increasingly severe, prompting urgent calls for international intervention and support.
