In a groundbreaking announcement for fans of global football icon Lionel Messi, Major League Soccer (MLS) revealed that the legendary forward will wear a camera on his chest during matches for Inter Miami. This innovative move will allow fans to experience a live stream of Messi’s every move on the pitch.
The MLS made this announcement on Monday, October 21, stating that this is the first time a player will be equipped with a camera during a game. Fans will be able to follow Messi’s gameplay through a live stream on TikTok, known as the “Player Spotlight” stream, with some fans affectionately dubbing it the “Messi-Cam.”
The live stream will go live five minutes before the kickoff of every Inter Miami game, providing fans an exclusive look at Messi as he prepares for the match. Additionally, Messi’s practice sessions will also be broadcast live on both the MLS and Inter Miami’s TikTok channels.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in sports broadcasting, as it will be the first time a football match is streamed live on a social media platform with a singular focus on one player—none other than Messi himself.
