Tensions flared once again in India-administered Jammu and Kashmir on Monday (October 28) as a militant attack left three armed assailants dead following a fierce gunfight with Indian security forces. According to reports from India Today, the incident occurred in Akhnoor, near the Pakistan border, where militants opened fire on an army vehicle early in the morning.
In response, Indian soldiers engaged the attackers in an intense firefight that lasted several minutes, resulting in the deaths of the three militants, according to officials. Security forces have since launched an anti-terror operation across the Jammu district, intensifying patrols in the area’s dense forests and setting up a perimeter around the attack site.
This marks the third militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir in just nine days, highlighting the region’s escalating unrest. Security forces are on high alert as these recurring incidents continue to raise concerns about stability in the region.
