The scheduled briefing between the Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and the newly appointed Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of 25 districts has been postponed. The briefing, which was supposed to take place on Wednesday (September 11), has been suspended at the last moment, according to the Cabinet Division. Additionally, the newly appointed DCs of these districts, who were assigned on September 9, have been instructed not to proceed to their new workplaces.
In two messages issued late Tuesday night (September 10), Joint Secretary of the Cabinet Division’s District and Field Administration Branch, Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khan, confirmed the information to the DCs. The directives stated that the newly appointed DCs are not permitted to join their new positions until further notice.
It should be noted that on September 9, the government appointed new DCs in 25 districts. Two notifications regarding the appointments were issued by the Ministry of Public Administration. Moreover, on Tuesday (September 10), the interim government appointed new DCs in 34 more districts.
