In the midst of ongoing tensions with neighboring North Korea, South Korea has once again conducted a joint military exercise with the United States. The exercise commenced on Monday, September 2, in the southeastern port city of Pohang, South Korea, according to reports from the Korea Times.
The exercise saw participation from the naval forces and marine corps of both countries, showcasing their strength with over 40 ships and several aircraft. Notably, the United States deployed its specialized amphibious assault ships and large cargo vessels during the drills.
The joint exercise tested capabilities across sea, land, and air, with the primary objective of enhancing the combat readiness and cooperation between the allied forces of Seoul and Washington. This special exercise is set to continue until Saturday.
