Under pressure from protests, the postponed HSC and equivalent exams have been canceled. The decision on how the HSC exam results will be determined will be made later. Meanwhile, today at noon, students went to the Secretariat, initiated protests, and demanded automatic pass (auto pass) instead of taking the postponed HSC and equivalent exams. In the emerging situation, the students want the HSC exam results to be published based on the exams already conducted, and for the postponed exams to be mapped with the corresponding SSC subjects.
To press this demand, the students surrounded the Dhaka Education Board yesterday (Monday) and today, they entered the Secretariat to protest. A large number of students gathered and protested under the building where the Ministry of Education is located, chanting slogans like “Our demands must be met.” Eventually,
around 4 PM, the students reached the 18th floor of the Secretariat, where the Ministry of Education is situated. They gathered in front of the office of the Secondary and Higher Education Division. At that time, all the entrances to the Secretariat were blocked. Eventually, the Ministry of Education announced the cancellation of the postponed exams, agreeing to the students’ demands.
